Too Many Goals?

There is no such thing. Sure, it’s possible that you can be overwhelmed by the sheer number of things you would like to accomplish, but as the old adage goes, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”.

Perhaps you should take this list of goals and start to break it down, one bite at a time. What is the priority? What needs to be done in a timely manner? Be realistic. Unless your car is at the end of the road (literally), a new car can wait if you need to do something like pay back taxes. Those taxes probably should be the priority. Not that the car is out of the question, but if you are currently unable to do both at the same time, you must prioritize. If you break down you goals piece by piece, you’ll find that you’ll start to accomplish them one by one.

Yes, there are those goals that you can strive for simultaneously, for example, exercise and academic goals. You should be able to accomplish those two things at without having to put one on the back burner. If what you need to do now is big, use the same technique you used in prioritizing your goals. One bite at a time. It’s also important to put a time frame on your goals. When you look at your goals every day (and you should be doing that), seeing that date of completion staring you in the face should be motivational. If that end date is not motivational, then you just need a little help to get motivated. Stay tuned…
